Dr. John L. Hennessy
Atheros Chairman of the Board and President of Stanford University

Dr. John L. Hennessy, Atheros co-founder, has served as chairman of our Board of Directors since our inception in May 1998. Since September 2000, Dr. Hennessy has served as the president of Stanford University, where he has been a member of the faculty since 1977. From 1999 to 2000, Dr. Hennessy was the provost of Stanford. Prior to becoming Provost, from 1996 to 1999, Dr. Hennessy served as the Dean of Stanford’s School of Engineering. Dr. Hennessy is a member of the boards of directors of Cisco Systems Inc., a manufacturer of networking equipment, and Google Inc., a provider of  Internet search technologies. Dr. Hennessy is a fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. Dr. Hennessy holds a Ph.D. and a Master of Science degree in computer science from the State University of New York, Stony Brook and a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Villanova University.

Andrew S. Rappaport 2,3
Partner at August Capital

Andrew S. Rappaport has served as one of Atheros’ directors since December 1998.  Since 1996, Mr. Rappaport has been a partner with August Capital, a venture capital firm.  Mr. Rappaport attended Princeton University.

Dan A. Artusi 1,3
Independent Industry Consultant

Dan A. Artusi has served as an Atheros director since July 2008.  Mr. Artusi, who has more than 30 years of experience in the semiconductor and communications industries, most recently served as president, CEO and board member of Conexant Systems, Inc., a communications solutions semiconductor company. Previously, Mr. Artusi was chairman and CEO of Coldwatt, Inc., a provider of power supplies for the communications and computing industries. He has also served as president, CEO and director of Silicon Laboratories, a leading developer of mixed signal integrated circuits and spent more than 20 years in various senior management roles at Motorola Semiconductor. Mr. Artusi currently serves as a board member of Qspeed Semiconductor, an early stage designer and manufacturer of power semiconductors.  Mr. Artusi attended the Instituto Tecnologico in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Charles E. Harris
Consultant

Charles E. Harris has served as an Atheros director since January 2010.  Mr. Harris is the former chief executive officer of Intellon Corporation, which was acquired by Atheros in December 2009.  Mr. Harris served on Intellon’s board of directors from 1994, as its chairman of the board from 2001 and as its chief executive officer from 2002. Mr. Harris has also held a variety of executive management roles including vice chairman and chief financial officer of Starwood Vacation Ownership, Inc., a subsidiary of Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, Inc., from 1997 to 2001. He has also been president and chief executive officer of Allen C. Ewing & Co., a Florida investment banking firm; chairman and chief executive officer of Mid-State Federal Savings Bank; and senior vice president and general counsel of Sun Banks, Inc. In his earlier career, Mr. Harris was engaged in the private practice of law and served as an assistant professor of law at the University of Florida.  Mr. Harris earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Florida and a J.D. from Harvard Law School. He is a member of The Florida Bar and The District of Columbia Bar.

Marshall L. Mohr 1
Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Intuitive Surgical, Inc.

Marshall L. Mohr has served as one of Atheros’ directors since November 2003.  Since March 2006, Mr. Mohr has been the senior vice president and chief financial officer of Intuitive Surgical, Inc., a provider of robotically-assisted minimally invasive surgery systems.  From July 2003 to March 2006, Mr. Mohr served as the chief financial officer of Adaptec, Inc., a provider of storage infrastructure solutions.  Prior to Adaptec, Mr. Mohr served for 22 years in a variety of positions at PricewaterhouseCoopers, most recently as managing partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Silicon Valley audit advisory practice.  Mr. Mohr currently serves on the board of directors of Plantronics, Inc., a provider of lightweight communications headset products.  Mr. Mohr holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Western Michigan University.

Dr. Willy C. Shih 2,3
Professor of Management Practice, Harvard Business School

Willy C. Shih has served as an Atheros director since November 2006. Dr. Shih is a Professor of Management Practice at The Harvard Business School. Prior to this, Dr. Shih was a senior lecturer at The Harvard Business School from January 2007 to July 2008. From August 2005 to September 2006, Dr. Shih was Executive Vice President of Thomson, a provider of digital video technologies.  He was an independent intellectual property consultant from February 2005 to August 2005.  Dr. Shih served as Senior Vice President of Eastman Kodak Company from July 1997 to February 2005.

Christine King 1,2
President and Chief Executive Officer of Standard Microsystems Corporation

Christine King has served as one of our directors since April 2008. Since October 2008, Ms. King has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Standard Microsystems Corporation (SMSC), a provider of semiconductor systems solutions. From March 2008 to October 2008, Ms. King was an independent consultant. From September 2001 to March 2008, Ms. King served as President and Chief Executive Officer of AMIS Holdings, Inc. (AMI), a provider of semiconductor solutions, and as Chief Executive Officer of AMI’s wholly-owned subsidiary, AMI Semiconductor, Inc., until the acquisition of AMI by ON Semiconductor Corporation. From 1992 to September 2001, Ms. King served in various positions at IBM, most recently as Vice President of Semiconductor Products for IBM Microelectronics. Ms. King is a member of the boards of directors of SMSC and IDACORP, Inc., a power company in Boise, Idaho. Ms. King holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

Dr. Teresa H. Meng 3
Fellow of the IEEE and Professor of Electrical Engineering, Stanford University

Teresa H. Meng, Atheros co-founder, has served on Atheros’ Board of Directors since the company’s inception in May 1998. From October 2000 through December 2006, Dr. Meng served as a consultant to Atheros’. From May 1998 to October 1999, Dr. Meng was Atheros’ president and chief executive officer. Dr. Meng joined the faculty of Stanford University’s Electrical Engineering Department in 1988, and in 2003, Dr. Meng was appointed the Reid Weaver Dennis Professorship. Dr. Meng is a fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and a member of the National Academy of Engineering. Dr. Meng holds Ph.D. and Master of Science degrees in electrical engineering and computer science from the University of California at Berkeley and a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from National Taiwan University.

Dr. Craig H. Barratt
President and CEO, Atheros Communications

Craig H. Barratt has served as president and chief executive officer of Atheros since March 2003, and as a director on the company’s Board since May 2003.  Dr. Barratt had previously served as Atheros’  vice president of technology from April 2002 until March 2003.  Prior to joining Atheros, Dr. Barratt served in a variety of positions for ArrayComm, Inc., from September 1992 to March 2002.  His roles with the company included executive vice president and general manager.  Dr. Barratt holds Ph.D. and a Master of Science degrees from Stanford University, and a Bachelor of Engineering degree in electrical engineering and a Bachelor of Science degree in pure mathematics and physics from Sydney University in Australia.
