The reference designs support Qualcomm’s MSM™ 6200, 6500 and 7500 chipset series for CDMA2000® and WCDMA networks with Atheros 802.11g and 802.11a/g solutions. Atheros ROCm designs offer the only WLAN solutions for mobile to have achieved Microsoft’s® Windows® Mobile 6.0 certification. Atheros’ WLAN drivers are built into the Mobile 6.0 OS, enabling our customers to achieve significant time to market and user experience advantages through a rigorously tested WLAN platform. Atheros is also the only provider of a single-chip, single-mode VoIP handset solution featuring 802.11g and 802.11a/g. Our single-chip solution provides the smallest VoIP footprint in the industry, resulting in 50% fewer components versus competitive offerings. This high level of integration lowers costs and yields a smaller form factor to drive mainstream VoIP adoption. Atheros-class voice over IP performance prolongs battery life and supports clear, uninterrupted voice connectivity.
